Let The Fun Continue...
Items of Interest
It is so hard to believe the Christmas season is upon us. We want to wish each and everyone of you a very “Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year”. Our Chapter Christmas Party is Saturday December 4th at the Gavin Employees Club. We plan to meet at the Employees Club at 9:00 AM to decorate on Saturday morning and get things ready. The kids party will be from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. You will need to bring a gift for Santa to give to each of the children you bring. The Chapters adult party begins with dinner at 6:30 PM, the Chapter will furnish the meat and rolls and everyone is to bring a covered dish (with something in it, preferably food of some type). Tom Payne will provide the music from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM for the evening. The Secret Couples will be revealed and if you want to get in the gift exchange, a man is to bring a man’s gift and a woman is to bring a woman's.

Chapter C2 will be having their Christmas Party on Sunday December 5th for friends and family, the dinner will be at 1:00 PM at McKenzie Center Gallipolis OH. Our final dinner ride this year will be December 11th at the Cool Spot in Coolville OH.

Safety Topic
This months Safety Topic is: Close the gap between your jacket and helmet with an inexpensive fleece neck warmer. It deflects bugs and rocks, blocks that cold draft in spring and fall, and can help reduce sweat evaporation (and possible dehydration) on hot summer days. They are cheap, comes in colors to match your gear, and available wherever outdoor equipment is sold.
Also be careful when group riding, always ride in a staggered formation and keep a safe distance from the bike in front of you. Crowding your buddy in front can lead to lack of reaction time and the possibility of an accident.

Ron's 2 Cents Worth

Paul, Linda, Nancy and I attended the officers meeting in Columbus OH on November 19th & 20th. Our own Paul Darnell won the Buckeye Rally Logo Contest for 2005. The theme for this year was “Wings In The Valley”. He took 1st place out of 17 entries. He and Linda will get in the Buckeye Rally free, and each will receive a Buckeye Rally Tee Shirt, a Rally Pin and a Plaque. WAY TO GO PAUL… The winning logo is below:
This was the first officers meeting with Roger & Penny Hurley & Staff as the new State Directors. They all did a fine job and their motto is “Let The Fun Continue” and we are sure it will...

Tech Tip
Any fuel, be it gasoline, diesel, or heating fuel, is made up of many different organic compounds. These organic compounds are constantly changing over time becoming new compounds that change the characteristics of fuel. The same compounds that make up the best parts of gasoline can react with oxygen and other elements in the environment and form new compounds that build up to form gummy residues or varnish-like films that can clog up passages in fuel lines, carburetors, and injectors. Even though some fuels are treated with inhibitors that can help prevent the formation of these harmful compounds for up to 3 months it is still best to treat the fuel system to be sure that these compounds are prevented from forming if the fuel system will be idle for an extended period of time. The best product to protect your fuel system throughout the winter lay up is STA-BIL. It is a cheap treatment and may prevent a big expense when you roll out your wing next spring.

Well it’s finally here, cold—wind—rain and all the crap that goes with winter. I was able to get the wing out for a 20 mile ride last Saturday, but it looks like that may be it for a while. Hopefully the weather will be good enough to attend Chapter C2’s News Years Day Artic Ride. This will be the first time I have been able to attend and am looking forward to it.

I am already looking forward to our next big event Cabin Fever. It looks like we are going to have a very good turnout by our chapter. The Officers Meeting was held at the same hotel that Cabin Fever will be held and we were all very impressed with the hotel and the staff. The staff treated us great and I think they will do a good job at Cabin Fever as well.

I have made about twenty five 2005 event calendars, I will bring them to our Christmas Party and every one can take one home and get ready for next years rides and events.

Upcoming Events and Rides...
Cabin Fever will be February 11th, 12th and 13th 2005. On Friday night registration will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Line up for the Parade will begin at 7:00 PM. After the Parade you go into the Sock Hop with your costumes on. There will be a live 50’s & 60’s Band with Hula Hoop, Bubble Gum, Poodle Skirt and dance contests, so E3 get ready! The games will be on Saturday Night only this year. So we need to get the registrations in as soon as possible.

We will have registration forms available at the Christmas Party for Cabin Fever.
