Our dinner ride, overnight ride to the
Amish country and Memorial ride for Charlie Musser and
Connie Bradley have been well attended and we want to
keep these rides going. The diner rides are the
second and fourth Saturdays of the month.
The State has a new program called M.A.D.
It stands for "Motorcycle Awareness Division" and Linda
Webber is over the program. It is to let the
motorist know there are lots of motorcycles out there
and to look out for us...
We had Chapter Y's couple of the year at
our May meeting. They are Brian & Loretta Richards
from Mt Vernon, Ohio and we welcome them back anytime.
We need to get out and recruit new
members for GWRRA of Ohio for 2004.
-
January had 84
expired members
-
February had 195
expired members
-
March had 361
expired members
-
April had 371
expired members.
In GWRRA for 2003
there were 2248 new members, but 2186 had expired
memberships. This isn't a good thing so everyone
needs to recruit new members when you get the chance.
Wings Over The River
will be July 31st and we will have a meeting very soon
to discuss plans.
A BIG thank you for
everyone for making the Gold Wings and Ribs Festival a
success. Without your time, effort and support it
would not have been. It was a lot of hard work
preparing for this and it all worked out. Also a
big THANK YOU to our friends at Chapter C2 for helping
with parking and registration as well as the chapter
bake sale booth and for just being there and supporting
us. The light parade went well and we have been
ask to extend our light parade through Mason next year.
They also have asked us to ride in the 4th of July
Parade.
The Chester Shades
Days Committee has ask us to bring our Wings out to
Chester to display them during the festival. They
would like us to be there on Saturday July 17th from
1:00 to 5:00 PM and on Sunday July 18th from 12:00 to
3:00 PM. Something like this is always good PR for
GWRRA and our Chapter so if possible please try and make
this event.
The Buckeye Rally is
next weekend and if anyone needs a registration for this
just let us know. We are leaving Thursday evening
and will come home on Sunday after the closing
ceremonies.

It doesn't seem possible, it is almost
the middle of June already. So much has happened
to all of us since the beginning of the year, some good
and some bad. Nancy and I would like to thank
everyone for all your support in our time of nee. It
means so much to us to have a Chapter that looks out for
each other.
We would like to welcome the newest
members to GWRRA to the chapter. Ike and Judy
Spencer and Larry and Cora Lee. It is great
to see our membership grow and we are glad to have them
join us.
Don't forget E3 has been asked to escort
the bicycle race in Wilksville on Monday evening June
21st. Anyone who can help with this need to be at
Wilksville by 4:30 PM. This will be another good
PR event for our Chapter so please try to be there if
you can.

The
Gold Wings and Ribs Festival has come and gone, and we
all survived. I want to thank everyone that helped
and worked so hard to make it such a success.
Something like this doesn't just happen it takes allot
of planning and hard work. Thanks for all your
help and hard work. As Ron and Nancy mentioned
Chapter C2 came through for us with traffic control and
did a great job. That was a huge burden off the
committee allowing us to concentrate on the festival.
Hats off to the members of C2 for a great job.
Don't forget our Black Water Falls
overnight ride on June 26th & 27th. We'll be
leaving McDonalds at 9:00 AM on Saturday. I'll try
not to get us lost, but there is no guarantees :-)

When faced with double-turn lanes (two
lanes both turning the same direction), be aware that
many people on the inside lane don’t realize there are
two lanes. They can run wide and cut you off if you’re
on the outside lane. Use extreme caution, and use the
inside lane whenever possible. Consider taking an
alternate route to avoid the risk altogether.

With the prime riding season upon us
don't neglect to take time to check your battery.
You may find that it is low on fluid. Taking time
now to check it may save you the cost of replacement not
to mention it could leave you stranded when you least
expect it.
