Here it is August already and another Buckeye Rally, Wings & Ribs Fest and Wings On The River have come and gone.  Time sure does fly when you're having fun.

The Buckeye Rally was a success. as always, by Tom, Sandy and their Staff.  As for next year, Tom and Sandy will be able to camp and enjoy the rally more as Roger and Penny Hurly will be taking over as the new state directors in October.  We wish them well and look forward to working with them.  Tom, Sandy and their staff have done a wonderful job with the rallies, Cabin Fever, officers meetings, etc.  They will be missed as officers.

Gary and Carolyn Miller will also be greatly missed as officers in our section.  We are not sure at this time who will replace them, but we look forward to working with them also.  Gary and Carolyn will have more time to visit and do more things with our Chapter.

Chapter C2's Down on the Farm was a fun time again this year.  Always plenty of good food and good fellowship.  Paul Darnell had a really good time as he won a set of new motorcycle tires in the skilled poker run.  Way to go Paul.

On July 24th we had our annual ride to the Drive-in.  We were pleased that several members of C2 joined us for this event.  We had about 25 people brave the chilly night air to enjoy "Anchorman" and "I Robot".  And of course there was more food than could be consumed by the average goldwinger.

Wings on the River was a success again this year.  The weather hurt us a little as usual, but all worked out.  As soon as the weather broke several people came in on their gold wings and several showed up in their vehicles.  We had plenty of good food and deserts thanks to our Chapter members.  Thanks to all that donated items for the silent auction and door prizes.  We also want to thank everyone for there help setting up and tearing down for Wings on the River and for doing the cooking.  Without all your hard work this would not have been a success.

We want to give a special thank you to Dick and Bev Fetty supplying the cooker for us to use.  It was a big help and we really appreciate it.  We also want to thank Richard and Sandy Butcher for allowing us to use their home again this year for our Wings on the River.

The farthest traveled plaque went to Bob and Marilyn Justice from Florida.  Oldest Rider went to Dave Taylor and the Youngest Rider went to Mark Norman.  Most supporting Chapter was C2.  And we awarded two Wings on the River Tee Shirts to Mert and Pat Davis for being the 1st to register.

There has been so much activity, not only in our gold wing lives but in our regular lives as well.  At times it is so hard to keep up with the normal things that happen.  We truly have so much fun and enjoyment with our involvement in GWRRA.  The people are always great to work with and there is always something going on that we can really enjoy.

Next weekend August 13th & 14th will be Buckeye Time Out, if you would like to go just let us know.  Nancy and I as well as Paul and Linda are planning to go on Saturday.  Holler if you would like to join us.  Don't forget that C2's regular meeting is at 7:00 PM at McClures in Gallipolis on August 20th.  And C2's Movie night is scheduled for August 21st.

I am continually impressed with this organization.  The great people that we have in our chapter as well as those in our surrounding chapters.  It is great to have such great support from Chapter C2.  We really appreciate all that C2 does and we really enjoy sharing in their activities and having them join us with ours.

We got word that Bill and Anna Kimble were in an accident while on vacation and were injured.  We hope they are doing OK and are able to get back on the road soon.

We also want to take this opportunity to welcome our newest members to E3, Ike & Judy Spencer and Larry & Cora Lee.   Gaining new members is the life blood of the organization and that is what keeps us going.

This months safety tip came from Wing World Magazine.  It was the story about making and keeping a trip planner.  The article discussed the  importance of making sure things like your will are current as well as making a trip itinerary.  That way if something disastrous  would happen during your trip your family would be better prepared to handle it.

This months tech tip is on the GL1500 alternator.  If there is a week link on the Gold Wing it is the electrical system and in particular the charging system.  It is very important to keep regular check on the alternator.  Keep track of your alternator brush wear,  Change your alternator brushes before they are worn and leave you stranded.

No new items for sale this month.
