| Our January Meeting was held
January 28th with 28 Goldwingers in attendance and 4 guests. It
was announced that Gary and Jo Ann Willford will be our Chapter
Couple for 2005. They will represent out Chapter well. We want to
thank Vicky and Short Russell for the great job they did last year
as Chapter Couple. Cabin
Fever will be held February 11th-13th. We are sure E3 will leave
an impression there as always. It is a fun weekend and we have
nine couples planning on attending. Friday evening will be a fun
night with the Grand Parade and Dance. Opening ceremonies will be
Saturday morning at 9:00 AM followed by the couple of the year
competition. Then we will all “Let the fun continue” as the day
progresses.
Some facts that we shared from the November officers meeting are:
Region D membership is down 3.14% and Ohio Membership is down
4.75% from last year.
March 19th will be the Fun Shop at Ft Wayne Indiana. They will
have seminars, bike judging seminars, and are going to have
certified bike judges.
The State Traveling Plaque will continue the way it is until
April, then it will replaced with sectional plaques.
Thanks to all the members who brought door prizes to the meeting.

Safety Topic

| Go out of your way to avoid
rent-a-trucks. (Remember the last time you moved?) You know that
whoever’s driving that truck is having one of the worst days of
his life, and his mind is everywhere but on the road.

Nancy and I want to thank each
and every one that helped to make the Chapter Christmas Party for
the
kids and also the adult Christmas party a success. The kids and
grandparents enjoyed Santa’s visit and look forward to the next
Christmas party. We were concerned that we might have a problem
with the party when we were setting up the building at Gavin and
most of the building heaters wouldn’t work. The building was a
little on the cool side and we contacted the Gavin plant Team
Leader and ask for his help. He and his crew assessed the
situation and determined that all but two of the heaters were bad
and they didn’t have any replacements. They quickly ran to
Wal-Mart and purchased several electric space heaters and brought
a large LP torpedo heater to use to keep the building warm. That
did the trick and we were able to enjoy the parties without any
problems. We sent Gavin a thank you letter for the effort of their
crew to make our party comfortable and for allowing us to use
their building for our party.
This year’s Christmas Party will be
held on December 3rd. We will be checking on the Gavin recreation
building again and will keep everyone posted as to whether we are
able to get it. We are planning on combining with Chapter C2 for
our Christmas party this year. We had a great turnout from C2 at
this years party and I think everyone had a great time. I know we
enjoyed having them join us. We would like to have a live band for
this year if possible, we plan to try and have another great party
again this year, we’ll keep everyone posted as things develop.

Tech Tip

Well it is February already even
though it seems like nice weather is a
long
way off, it will be hear before we know it. The first chance you
get to take a look at your bike you probably should take a few
minutes
|
Don't put
off that bike check-up till the last minute. |
to look at those tires and make sure the tread is still in
good shape. Also look at those brake pads and while your there
fire her up and make sure you let it run long enough to cycle the
cooling fans a few times.
If you know you need some work done on your bike before riding
season now is the time to start think about getting it done, if
you put it off a few more weeks you may miss out on some good
spring riding while your bike is tied up in the shop.
We have several nice rides planned for this year so you want to be
ready to go when the weather breaks.

Well
Cabin Fever is just around the corner and it looks like E3 will
have a great turnout for this years event. Bob and Sherry Kincaid,
and Ike and Judy Spencer will be attending for the first time and
I know they will have a great time. After being cooped up for the
winter I know everyone will be out to enjoy their time away from
home.
I want to take a second to remind everyone that the Gold Wings and
Ribs Festival monthly meeting will be February 21st at 7:00 PM at
the Chamber of Commerce in Pomeroy. We need everyone's involvement
in the planning of this years festival. The Chapter has always
worked hard to make the festival a success. But I want everyone to
know that we want your input in the planning of the festival as
well. I know it is hard to find the time to do everything that is
in our busy schedules each day, but I want everyone to know that
they are invited to participate in each of our monthly meetings.
We need your involvement in the planning of the festival and I
truly appreciate all the hard work that you do during the festival
each year.
See ya at Cabin Fever...
