At our January 23rd meeting, there were 34 in attendance with members from C2, P2 and Cliff and Carol Hitt the West Virginia GWRRA State Treasurers.  Our ADD got a little impatient and started the meeting for Ron.  Gary and Carolyn presented Nancy, Paul, Linda and I with our Director patches.  Gary and Carolyn also planned to make a presentation to Kay and Al Graham but they were not present, they were enjoying the Illinois GWRRA winter event.

The Chapter Directors for P2 & C2 filled us in on their upcoming events.  Gary Miller brought us up to date on State events as well.

We are starting to have dinner rides on the second and forth Saturday's of each month.  Our first dinner ride was at Fat Boyz Pizza on Jackson Pike in Gallipolis.  We had 8 members in attendance.  All dinner rides leave McDonalds in Pomeroy at 5:30 PM.

The Chapter Meetings have been changed to the fourth Friday of each month at 7:00 PM.  They will still be held at McClures Restaurant in Pomeroy.

We want to thank everyone for bring door prizes to the meeting.

Nancy and I would like to thank the Chapter for letting us step back in as Chapter Directors for E3.  Maybe we can get it right the second time around.  We want to thank Senior Chapter Director's Al and Kay Graham for an excellent job and for all their hard work over the past three years.  We would like to thank all of the Chapter members for all their hard work and support.

We may be a small Chapter but we are always heard.  We appreciate Senior District Directors Tom and Sandy Taggart and Assistant District Directors Gary and Carolyn Miller for giving us the opportunity to step back in as CD's.  It was probably a real tough decision for them to put us back in.

We are pleased to have Paul and Linda Darnell as the Chapter ACD's.  They will be an asset to the Chapter and Paul will be handling the Chapter web site.

All other office holders will be the same for our team. Gary and Jo Ann Willford will be Chapter Treasurer's, Short and Vickie Russell will be the Newsletter Editor; Roger and Sharon Black and Rich and Sandy Butcher will be the ride coordinators.  Al and Kay Graham will be the MED coordinators for the Chapter.

Thanks

Chapter E3 has hit the ground running in 2004. As you all know we have added two dinner rides to the ride schedule each month. I am very excited about this, Chapter C2 has been doing this for quite some time on Friday evening and Linda and I have attended several of there rides. We have had a great time and I know that our dinner rides will be a lot of fun as well.

We are continuing to work hard on our Cabin Fever experience. I'm sure that everyone at Cabin Fever will be shocked and moved by E3's submission in the talent competition :-)

Ronnie and I are looking forward to working closely with Mert & Dave of C2 this year as well as the other chapters in our district. I know that we have planned some great rides for this year and we will be having a lot of fun.

Linda and I want to thank all of you for the opportunity to serve as ACD's and we will do the best job we can as we move forward.

Thanks
Paul & Linda Darnell

New tires have very poor traction for about the first 50 miles. They need a chance for the mold release compound to be worked out of the tire’s surface. Use caution until your new tires have had a chance to break in. Also some automotive tire cleaning products can also reduce your motorcycle’s traction.

Ron's Tech Tip is on the importance of keeping the battery maintained.  A recent Wing World article mentioned that starting your bike every so often to keep the battery charged is actually worse than keeping a charger/maintainer on the battery.  The bike needs to be ran at a high RPM for several minutes to off set the drain put on the battery while starting.  Wing World recommends that you use a charger/maintainer to keep your bikes battery in good health during the cold weather.  But keep in mind it is still a good idea to occasionally start your bike to keep the fluids moving in and through the bike.
